Japanese paintings that inspire the spirit of imagination.

Unique Japan carries a wide variety of beautiful, handmade Japanese bamboo tapestry. Each piece is decorated with individually painted calligraphy, personally signed by the calligraphy artist, with an assortment of messages ("love", "longevity"," spirit" "happiness", and "zen"). An excellent conversation piece for any room in the home. Available in two sizes; see our web site for details.

Adored Japanese woodblock artist Hirokazu Fukuda (1944-2004) personally designed, hand-carved, and, with the aid of professionals, hand-printed his works using traditional methods dating back to the beginning of the 17th century. Over 20 different Fukuda pieces available, all beautiful, all individually stamped and signed by the artist on hand-made torinokoshi paper. Only 250 prints of each were ever made. 27cm x 20cm (10.6" x 7.8")

Woodblock artist David Stones was born in England and studied at the Lincoln College of Art before settling permanently in Japan in 1972. Stones works in the Japanese woodblock tradition of the Edo Period (1603-1867), hand-carving and hand-painting all of his works without the involvement of machinery. Unique Japan carries over 20 exquisite David Stones pieces; see our web site for details.
