Beautiful wooden dolls that bring charm to your home.

In Japanese tradition, Kokeshi dolls are kept in the home or office to prevent fires or ward off evil spirits. This Tsubomi ("flower bud") design symbolizes rebirth - an excellent gift to mark a new relationship, career, or business endeavour. Hand made, hand painted, and skilfully carved from one piece of wood, the doll stands 15cm (5.9") tall.

Daruma dolls are a symbol of optimism, good fortune and determination to achieve a specific goal. The Daruma comes without eyes and it is customary to color one in upon its arrival in your home. Once your goal is reached, or a resolution fulfilled, the other eye is colored in amid a great feeling of satisfaction. Red Darumas represent luck, purple stands for good health and longevity, and yellow for security or protection.

The beauty of this Kokeshi doll is subtle and very classy. Strong and graceful, this design is called Manyo, meaning "eternity" in Japanese. A truly original gift, the doll comes with a black base and a small stand with the artist's name that can be placed next to the product. Hand made and hand painted, the doll stands 22cm (8.6") tall.
